New Book Launched

New book launched – The long awaited upated and revised version of my 2019 book Dartmoor’s Disapearing Red Telephone Boxes is now available to buy online and in local retailers.

Back in the summer of 2019 I embarked on a personal photographic journey to document the the last remaining red telephone boxes on Dartmoor.  This journey took me to all corners of the moor; to places I’d never heard. I visited of let alone visited placed I’d never been to.  During 2020 and 2021, my photographs were exhibited in four Devon Libraries which brought them to a wider audience.

Aroun this time I looked at putting together a coffee table book to bring my pictures together.  At the time Iused and online print-on-demand service that didn’t work out to be commercially viable.  As such only a handful of the first edition were ever printed, mostly given to friends and family as gifts.  The desire to produce a commercially viable book never fully left me. The idea was parked for a few years while life challenges took over.  At the end of 2023 I began to resurect the idea of producing a book.  This lead me to much reasearch, to retrace my steps across the moor to see the fate of the red telephone boxes.

After much work, research and false starts the book finally came to being. I proudly took delivery of my first batch in December 2024, just in time for the first Artansa – Art at Endsleigh event.

My book is now available to order from this website, and from the DNPA Vistor Centres in Princetown, Postbridge and Haytor.  It is also available from the Tavistock Heritage Trust shop.

You can read about the original project here and see the original images from the project here and here. The book will be available to buy direct from me at various upcoming events.  Please sign up to my mailing list (scroll down to signup form) if you would like to hear about these events.
