Introducing ART at Easter: A New Creative Event Debuts at Gulworthy Parish Hall
Easter weekend 2026 marks an exciting new chapter for the region’s creative community as Artansa’s ART at Easter makes its debut at Gulworthy Parish Hall. Presented by Artansa, this four‑day exhibition brings together independent artists from across West Devon, the Tamar Valley, and North Cornwall, offering visitors a fresh opportunity to explore the area’s vibrant artistic talent.
Building on the Success of Artansa’s Growing Programme
Although ART at Easter is new, it follows the momentum of two well‑loved Artansa events. Art at Endsleigh, held annually for the past three years, has become a highlight of the local arts calendar, known for its intimate setting and thoughtful curation. In June 2025, Artansa expanded its programme with Art at the Bedford, a lively debut exhibition in Tavistock that brought contemporary work into a historic venue and attracted enthusiastic audiences.
With these successes behind it, ART at Easter represents the next step in Artansa’s commitment to creating accessible, community‑centred exhibitions that celebrate independent artistic practice.
A Diverse Exhibition for a Diverse Community
As a debut event, ART at Easter has been designed to showcase the breadth of creative work happening across the Southwest. Visitors can expect a wide range of practices—from painting and printmaking to ceramics, textiles, photography, and mixed media—reflecting the varied approaches and experiences of participating artists.
Whether you’re a seasoned art‑lover or simply curious, the exhibition offers a welcoming space to discover new voices and connect with local makers.
A Hybrid Format for a Richer Experience
To reflect the diversity of work on display, ART at Easter adopts a hybrid exhibition format. The centre of the hall will feature a curated, gallery‑style display, while the edges of the room will host artist tables and additional displays. This layout allows visitors to enjoy the clarity of a curated exhibition while also engaging directly with artists, asking questions, and exploring a wider range of work available to buy.
It’s an approach that blends structure with spontaneity, encouraging both quiet looking and lively conversation.
A Weekend of Art, Community, and Connection
The exhibition will remain open throughout the Easter weekend, with a relaxed open evening offering the chance to meet artists, enjoy refreshments, and take in the work at an unhurried pace.
Whether you’re looking to purchase original artwork, support local creatives, or simply enjoy a cultural outing close to home, ART at Easter aims to create an inviting, community‑minded experience.
Celebrating Independent Creativity in Person
At its heart, ART at Easter is a celebration of independent artistic practice and the value of seeing work in person. In a world where so much art is encountered online, there’s something uniquely meaningful about standing in front of a piece—experiencing its texture, colour, and presence firsthand.
Artansa hopes this new exhibition will become a place where those connections can flourish, enriching both artists and audiences.
